Description

After a scenic guided drive, you will then hop into your boat and spend one hour and twenty minutes on the Tempisque River that borders the Palo Verde National Park. This river is best known for its murky water and spectacular wetlands. Your naturalist guide will help to spot wildlife in the dry tropical forest and mangroves. There are over 600 different species of birds, both local and migratory. Appropriately, this tour is a real treat for bird watchers, as you’ll have the chance of spotting storks, egrets, spoonbills, grebes and more. Also be on the lookout for monkeys, iguanas, scarlet macaws, anteaters, crocodiles and caimans, which can often be seen lingering along the banks of the river.

Costa Rica Style Lunch

After your boat safari, you will be taken to eat a plentiful typical Costa Rican style meal called a Casado. This usually consists of rice, beans, salad, plantains, choice of meat, and more. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

Following lunch, make a quick stop for a Chorotega pottery presentation. Here, you’ll learn about the ancient artistry and cultural significance of Chorotega pottery. Marvel at the intricate designs and vibrant colors as you gain insight into the traditions of this indigenous community.
